What is a missed call worth?

I look at who may be contacted and what the work costs, so we can judge whether a callback fix makes sense.

Before I put a value on a missed call, I want to know who called and what happened next. It may be a repeat call, a test, spam, or a person who would not buy. We start by counting each person once.

A clear model

Eligible unanswered contacts × extra booking chance × attendance × close rate × collected value per sale × gross margin. Apply your capacity cap. Then subtract the cost of the work.

“Extra” means the change beyond what would have happened anyway. Use the same time window and count refunds and cancellations. Do not use every call as a new person.

A made-up example

This is a teaching model, not a result or forecast. Suppose 60 unique, eligible contacts went unanswered in one month. A fix adds a 20% booking chance. Assume 75% attend, 40% buy, a sale collects $500, and gross margin is 60%.

60 × 0.20 × 0.75 × 0.40 × $500 × 0.60 = $1,080 in modeled extra gross profit, before the fix and staff costs. Those rates need evidence in a real business. If you can serve fewer than nine extra visits, cap the visits first.

What should happen after a missed call?

  1. Log the call and check whether it is a new, eligible contact.
  2. Assign a named person to the next step.
  3. Use only an approved channel and contact basis. Respect opt-outs.
  4. Offer a useful next step, with a human handoff for questions.
  5. Record the reply, booking, attendance, sale, or closed outcome.

Response targets depend on staffing and hours. Do not publish a reply-time promise your team cannot keep.

What would change the answer?

If most missed calls are spam, the next fix may be call filtering. If your schedule is full, capacity may come first. If the added gross profit is below the real cost, a paid project may not fit.

Inspect a fuller sample, including a case where paid work is rejected.

A clear first step

Let us find your next step.

I would like to understand what you want to change, so we can focus on what matters to you. First, answer a few questions. Then choose a time for a 15-minute Zoom call.

What we will do in 15 minutes

  1. Talk about your goal and what feels stuck.
  2. Look at what you have tried and ask a few useful questions.
  3. Choose a next step. That may mean working together, checking more facts, or leaving it there.

It is fine to say the fit is not right. This call does not buy an audit or commit you to paid work.

A few details before we talk

Three quick checks before you choose a time

1. Can you keep 15 minutes free for us? I would like your full focus, even if your inbox has other plans.

2. Can you join Zoom from one quiet spot? I would like to hear you, not hold a call with your steering wheel.

3. If your day changes, will you move the time or let me know? A quick note beats a game of hide-and-seek.

Not ready to agree? You can stop here and come back later. “No” or “Not sure” about records does not rule out a general call. We can start with what you have.

Use business details only. Do not send private client records. Your answers go to Calendly when you choose to schedule. A time is held only after Calendly confirms your booking.
